This large and impressive Kudu Staghorn sculpture was made by Roberto Esteves for Karl Springer. The fiberglass casting is sealed with an gunmetal lacquer. The base and the ears are solid brass. The 3 foot authentic horns tower above the majestic iridescent bust.
Roberto Esteves was a talented jewelry designer and sculptor. He designed pieces for Tiffany, Van Cleef, Cartier, and Arpels. Roberto was Karl Springer’s life partner. He created a number of unique, one of a kind, pieces that were sold through Springer’s showrooms until his death in the 1980s.
This piece came out of a home in Honolulu, Hawaii that contained numerous original and unique Karl Springer items. The sculpture was originally bought in 1983 from the Karl Springer Los Angeles Showroom for the home in Honolulu. We have copies of these receipts and will provide them with the purchase.
