This is a wonderful offset lithograph by Robert Rauschenberg for Amalgamated Lithographers of America and Color Lithographers service, Inc. Very characteristic of Rauschenberg, this collage features historical and popular icons as many of his pieces do. Other image fragments of newspaper and other elements can be seen. This piece is pencil signed, numbered and dated.

Working in a wide range of subjects, styles, materials, and techniques, Rauschenberg has been called a forerunner of essentially every postwar movement since Abstract Expressionism. He remained, however, independent of any particular affiliation.
