A rare and exquisitely tailored leather-wrapped game table and four chairs designed by legendary Hollywood decorator Billy Haines, created circa 1960s for the Beverly Hills residence of Kirk and Anne Douglas. The set epitomizes Haines’ signature blend of refined glamour and classic modernism, showcasing his mastery of scale, materials, and understated luxury.
The chairs feature sculptural saber legs and arched backs in a warm fruitwood tone, upholstered in rich deep green leather with brass nailhead trim, perfectly complementing the matching leather-clad tabletop. Chairs measure 29″ high, 24.5″ wide, 20.5″ deep, with a seat depth of 18″. The legs of both table and chairs are styled in faux-bamboo, lending an elegant neoclassical influence and subtle exoticism.
All finishes and material are original to the table and are in fine condition. The most sign of wear is to the gold leafed tooling, but is a minor issue.
With impeccable provenance and timeless style, this ensemble is not only a collector’s piece but also a stunning addition to any refined interior.
Provenance: Kirk and Anne Douglas, Beverly Hills, California.
