This is a wonderful screenprint on canvas with hand embellishment by Steve Kaufman. Once Andy Warhol’s assistant, Steve Kaufman was a prominent pop artist in the 1980s-2000s. This Beethoven piece is from his “Homage to Genius” series. Kaufman chose to embellish with multiple colors including yellow, blue, green, orange, black and white. This is an artist’s proof; it is signed on verso, “S SAK/Peace and Respect” and numbered 14/50. The certificate of authenticity, as shown in picture 6, is included. His work was so diverse over the years, this piece would have been done after he moved to Los Angeles. This is a must for any pop art collector!
